MEDIA RELEASE: The Australian Agritech Association and the Queensland Government Announce National Agritech Week 2026

March 2026 – The Australian Agritech Association (AusAgritech), in partnership with the Queensland Government, has announced the launch of National Agritech Week 2026, a new national gathering that will bring together investors, innovators, producers and industry leaders to accelerate the role of technology in Australian agriculture.

Taking place in Brisbane from 10–12 June 2026, National Agritech Week will position Queensland at the centre of Australia’s agritech ecosystem and create a focal point for collaboration, investment and industry connection.

AusAgritech President Rob Hulme said:

“The next phase of Australian agriculture depends on how effectively we scale. National Agritech Week reflects a growing industry mandate: we must pivot from simply creating technology to integrating it.”

“Australia’s reputation for agritech innovation is undisputed. However, the sector’s future success hinges on strengthening the pathways to market. It is no longer enough to have a great solution; we need the infrastructure to deploy it at scale.”

“By convening the full ecosystem, from investors to primary producers to industry and Government agencies, National Agritech Week is designed to shine a spotlight on Australian ingenuity and what’s required to translate this into solutions our growers need to compete.”

“With Queensland’s diverse climatic zones and ag production expertise, the state is the perfect staging ground for the technologies that will define the next decade of global food security.”

The announcement continues the growing partnership between the Queensland Government and AusAgritech and builds on the success of the Australian delegation to Agritechnica 2025 in Hannover, Germany, where Australian companies showcased their innovations and technologies to the global agricultural industry through the Team Australia Mission and Pavilion, supported by the Queensland Government and AgriFutures growAG. The mission demonstrated the strength of Australian agricultural innovation and generated new international interest in the country’s agritech sector.

National Agritech Week will bring that momentum back to Australia, creating a week-long series of connected events designed to strengthen the pathways between capital, innovation and adoption.

At the centre of the week will be the 4th Annual Australian Agritech Awards Gala, celebrating the individuals, companies and collaborations driving progress across the sector. The Gala has quickly become a flagship moment for the industry, recognising leadership, innovation and impact across Australia’s rapidly growing agritech ecosystem.

The program will also feature AusAgritech’s Agritech Showcase, centred around the theme “Connecting Capital, Innovation and Adoption.” The showcase will explore the practical pathways needed to move technologies from development into real-world agricultural use, bringing together agritech companies, producers, investors and industry leaders.

Complementing these events will be a national Agritech Meetup, designed to strengthen connections across the ecosystem, and an Agritechnica Reunion, bringing together participants from the 2025 Team Australia delegation while welcoming others interested in future global collaboration and international missions.

The week will also align with the Global AgInvesting (GAI) Australia conference, creating an additional opportunity for international investors and agribusiness leaders to connect with Australia’s agritech sector.

Minister for Primary Industries Tony Perrett said this initiative reinforces Queensland’s position as a global leader for agricultural innovation.

“Queensland is the ideal place to showcase the ideas and technologies that will shape the future of farming and our primary industries,” Minister Perrett said.

“Events like National Agritech Week strengthen the connections between research, industry and producers, ensuring our primary industries remain productive, sustainable and globally competitive.

“Growing Queensland’s primary industries production output to $30 billion by 2030 will rely on backing innovation and expanding global market opportunities, supporting our producers to be more productive, profitable and sustainable.”

The initiative reinforces Queensland’s position as a leading hub for agricultural innovation and highlights the state’s commitment to supporting technologies that enhance productivity, sustainability and global competitiveness.

The Australian Agritech Awards Gala will take place on 11 June 2026 in Brisbane, recognising outstanding achievements across the sector.
