Monday 5 September 2022 – The Australian Agritech Association (AusAgritech) has today announced
that they are pioneering an international Investor Showcase and Awards program, which will give
Australian agritech innovators the chance to match with global investors and be recognised for their tech
contributions at the inaugural event in Sydney, Australia on November 17th 2022.
The Investor Showcase and Awards extravaganza will see hundreds of agrifood tech innovators and
international investors descend on Sydney, Australia for the one-day action packed event at the Sheraton
Grand Hyde Park.
Among the confirmed investors to date are leading investors in venture and agritech such as AirTree,
Folklore, Grok Ventures, Invisible, Jelix Ventures, Main Sequence, Mandalay VC, SparkLabs Cultiv8,
Square Peg, Tenacious Ventures and Temasek.
AusAgritech, the peak body for agrifood tech in Australia, has publicly advocated for the advancement of
the Australian agritech sector, which has the potential to add $40Bn per annum value accretion to the
Australian economy. The Association’s development of the inaugural awards program and investor
showcase provides a ‘tipping point’ for the acceleration of agritech in Australia and on the world stage.
AusAgritech Chair, Andrew Coppin said that the Agrifood Tech Awards & Investor Showcase was an
opportunity unlike any other in the agrifood tech landscape of Australia today.
“The Australian Agrifood Tech Awards & Investor Showcase are a once in a lifetime opportunity for
Australian agritechs, and for the broader tech ecosystem in Australia as a whole,” Mr. Coppin said.
“There is truly nothing like this opportunity, which will culminate in the Awards Event recognising the best
talent, startups, scale ups and innovators in the agrifood tech sector. Nowhere else in Australia do
innovators in agrifood tech, and by extension climate tech, green tech and enviro tech, have the chance
to meet face to face with some of the best investors from around the world, in one day, at one venue.”
AusAgritech CEO, Tracey Martin, said that the Australian Agrifood Tech Awards & Investor Showcase
was an initiative that demonstrated AusAgritech’s commitment to its members, and their mission of
shaping the future of agritech in Australia and raising its profile in contribution to the Australian economy.
“AusAgritech’s members, as well as innovators in the wider agrifood tech ecosystem, are providing
tangible technology solutions to Australia’s farmers and producers, even those in the most remote parts of
the country,” Ms. Martin said.
“We are proud to see this initiative come to fruition, and look forward to raising the profile of agrifood tech
innovators through the Awards & Investor Showcase, which demonstrates the potential of the agritech
sector on a national scale.”
The Australian Agrifood Tech Awards & Investor Showcase is backed by sponsors such as Telstra,
Bayer, CEAT, AgriFutures, Zonos, Planet, Thrive Global / SVG Ventures, i4Connect and delivery partners
such as EverEdge Global, Tech Policy Design Centre, Tech Council of Australia, Hamilton Locke and
