15 February 2022 – The Australian Agritech Association (AusAgritech) is holding its inaugural.National Agritech Summit (virtual) on Friday 18th February 2022.
The National Agritech Summit will bring together key policy makers, investors and sector leaders to discuss the need to develop a cross-portfolio approach that delivers a coherent national strategy for the growth of the agritech sector, as well as the adoption of existing commercial technologies.
Agritech is a standalone sector which applies technology to the agri-food supply chain, energy, water, sustainability, environment, climate and emissions reduction. The technology developed and commercialised by the Australian agritech sector will be critical in Australia reaching its ambitions for productivity, sustainability, digitilisation, jobs growth and emissions reduction.
The confirmed panel comprises of national leaders, users and advocates of agritech, including Alasdair MacLeod of Macdoch Group, The Honourable Paul Fletcher MP, Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts, The Honourable Ed Husic MP, Shadow Minister for Industry and Innovation, Bob Gee, Director-General, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Queensland Government, Fiona Turner, Co-Founder Bitwise Agronomy, James Walker, Ag Producer and Director, Landcare Australia and Agrihive and special guest John Harvey, Managing Director, Agrifutures.
Tracey Martin, CEO, AusAgritech, said, “Agritech is one of the most important industries for the future of the nation, but we need the support of key decision makers.”
“At the summit, our members will be joined by some of the brightest minds in agritech and some of the most influential stakeholders in the country including both government and shadow ministers, innovators, investors and decision makers.
“Importantly, we will also be delivering a member showcase which highlights some of the most exciting work our members are doing.
“In the lead up to the federal election, we will continue to seek opportunities to engage with key policy makers on behalf of our members to ensure that our industry has the backing of leaders that it deserves.
Gemma Acton, Seven News Network Finance Editor will join the discussion as the Summit’s MC, alongside Sarah Nolet of Tenacious Ventures who will moderate a panel discussion..
